The Alliance Française network

 

The Alliance Française, a cultural non-profit association, was founded in 1883 in Paris. This association distinguishes itself from other language schools through its blend of learning and cultural immersion.  There are over 1,116 centres in 138 countries, which makes the Alliance Française the largest French language teaching association in the world. Being part of an outstanding professional network, the Alliance Française is also an official examination centre for recognized qualifications. With the collaboration of the AF global network, free resources are available at http://alliance-us.org/Merlin/ to enhance your learning experience by practicing at your own pace. Alliance Française de Perth: the first French language centre in WA

 

The Alliance Française opened its doors to the Perth community in 1911 and is proud to celebrate its centenary in 2011 through many exciting events. The centre enrols around 1,500 students each year, with a maximum of 12 students per class. In 2010 the centre extended its premises to 105 Broadway to provide a better learning environment. Our teaching staff is fully qualified and follows up-to-date methods. Courses are modelled after the Common European Framework of References for Languages and comply with the criteria of the DELF and DALF diplomas. The centre offers a wide range of courses, from beginner to advanced levels for adults, courses for children and teenagers and special courses. These courses are taught with a very enjoyable and interactive approach. Classes are available in the morning, afternoon, evening and Saturday mornings for a duration of either 1.5 hrs or 3 hrs to suit your individual commitment. Each term lasts 10 weeks but we also provide mid-term courses, intensive courses and private tuition. When enrolling at the Alliance Française de Perth, your membership is automatically granted for the duration of your session. You will benefit from a great choice of resources available at the library and free access/discounted prices to attend our cultural and social events. Last but not least, our premises provide a convivial and relaxing atmosphere with its charming patio and a fully equipped kitchen.

The Alliance Francaise aims not only to disseminate the French language and culture but also to exchange ideas and nurture a bond of friendship with the host country.

Just as the comic hero Tintin’s adventures connect with “young readers of 7 to 77 yrs old”, there is no barrier  -age or otherwise- to prevent you or anyone from  learning French.

Whether you are aiming for higher marks as a student, intending to travel to France for a holiday, intent perhaps on improving your job prospects, or just fulfilling a long-time desire to study and master the French language, - or simpler still - being able  to order your croissant at the local patisserie with aplomb- the Alliance’s qualified native-French-speaking teachers will exceed all your expectations in a friendly, warm learning environment.
