DELF – Diplôme d’études en langue française
DALF – Diplôme approfondi de langue française
The DELF and DALF are diplomas awarded by the French Education Ministry to prove the French language skills of non-French candidates. There are six independent diplomas which correspond, respectively, to the six levels of the Council of Europe’s European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Each examination comprises sections testing the four skills: oral production & comprehension and written production & comprehension.
Holders of DELF B2 or DALF diplomas are exempted from language entrance examination in French universities.
There are also special versions of DELF diplomas for adolescents and children. These are structured in the same way as the adult versions, but the themes used are chosen to suit children and adolescent candidates. Please note that the Alliance Française de Perth is the only recognized institution for these diplomas in WA.
