The Embassy of France in Australia has selected the successful candidates for its program ‘French lessons for scientists’ in 2009.
The following persons are invited to apply to benefit from the program:

- Researchers,
- Academics,
- PhD students (especially enrolled in Cotutelle) and
- Administrative staff, preferably involved in International Relations, and working for Research or Academic institutions.

Lessons will be held at 6 major Alliances Françaises around Australia (Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney) and aim to improve general language knowledge, depending on each student’s level. The program is not a scientific nor a specific terminology course, and applications from all levels (beginners to advanced) will be considered.

Preference will be given to candidates involved in collaborative research or educational projects with French institutions.

The courses can be done in most Alliances Françaises as intensive courses in January, or as extensive courses during the academic year. Details depend on each Alliance and are provided further in the application forms.

The ‘French Lessons for Scientists’ 2009 call is on offer up to 7 December 2008.

The results will be announced before 21 December 2008.

Terms of the award: Successful applicants will have half of their lessons cost covered by the French Embassy.
