Top Films seen in France in 2024
Discover the most seen French films of 2024 in their country of origin and get a glimpse at what's coming for the next AF FFF.
The French love cinema!
A total of 181.3 million tickets were sold in France in 2024, the best post-covid recovery in Europe and the great films that have come
out do have a lot to do with it.
44.4% of films seen are French, and 3 of the top 5 most-seen films were French. Cock-a-doodle-doo! A score like this hadn't
been achieved in fifteen years, with the release of Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis and Asterix at the Olympic Games in 2008.
The films released this year are varied, ranging from historical epics to biopics, social comedies, and family dramas, court-room dramas, animated features and even romances. It is interesting to highlight this diversity, which not only satisfies different audiences but also demonstrates the French mastery of these eclectic genres.
So here's the full list of French films that have topped the million mark in their country of origin:
The two biggest successes by far are A Little Something Extra and The Count of Monte-Cristo, who have both attracted
around 10 million spectators but Beating Hearts, Monsieur Aznavour, Cocorico, Open Season, My Brother’s Band, Maison de retraite 2,
Les Segpa au Ski, Cat & Dog, Emilia Perez, Ducobu Goes Green
and Le dernier Jaguar can also boast very good box-office scores.
And here are the films that topped the 500,000 mark:
