Stage 1 - Event Recap

An opening evening of cycling, culture, and conviviality at Alliance Française de Perth

A festive start to the series

On Saturday 4 July 2026, Alliance Française de Perth launched the Tour de France 2026 Series with a lively opening evening dedicated to the spirit of the Grand Départ. Inspired by Spain, host of the opening stage, this first event brought together cycling enthusiasts, lovers of French culture, and members of our wider community in a warm and celebratory atmosphere.

The evening featured route highlights, early race analysis, jersey predictions, live updates, and a Spanish-themed cocktail reception. It marked the beginning of a three-part series running from 4 to 24 July 2026, designed to explore the Tour de France through sport, geography, culture, and gastronomy.

Evening highlights

Stage 1 offered an engaging introduction to the 2026 Tour de France and set the tone for the rest of the series. Guests enjoyed a combination of expert commentary, shared enthusiasm for the race, and convivial moments over food and wine.
