With a strong history, the Normandy region is well-known all over the world. Indeed, the D Day landings on the Normandy beaches on 6 June 1944, resulted in the Liberation of Paris and the restoration of the French Republic.
The Normandy region also offers varieties of French food specialities, the most famous being camembert, cider & apple brandy (calvados).
Its beautiful beaches including Deauville & Cabourg are a popular destination for the Parisian jet-set.
The Normandy landscape is mostly composed of green fields and fine sandy beaches, the region also contains many cultural sites, such as Le Mont Saint Michel or the Bayeux tapestry,
unavoidable places in any tourism trip in Normandy.
