Specific Terms & Conditions for children classes

[general terms and conditions also apply to children classes]

Children under the age of 18 years enrolled in a course at the Alliance Française de Perth are under the responsibility of the Alliance Française from the start time of the course until the end of the course when they are in the classroom.

Parents are responsible for their children outside classroom hours and for as long as the children are outside the classroom. Parents are expected to bring their children to the classroom at the beginning of the class and to pick them up at the end of the class.  If your child is to be picked up by another parent, please inform the teacher at the beginning of the lesson.

Parents may allow their children to come to and leave the class on their own but must take full responsibility in this instance for their child’s well-being.  The teacher will make a roll call and record any absences at the beginning of each class. Students who are absent at the beginning of the class are not under the responsibility of the teacher.

Parents will be advised if their child is missing too many classes without valid reasons.
However, please note that the Alliance will not call the parents every time time a student is absent for class.

Late collection of children policy and procedures

Our teachers have commitments and cannot always stay late after class to look after the children. If parents (or authorised gardian) are late, they are expressely encouraged to call the teacher and/or the Alliance Française's office.

If parents (or authorised gardian) have not arrived 10 minutes after the end of the class, the teacher will attempt to contact them.

If the teacher has been unable to reach the parents (or authorised gardian) 20 minutes after the end of the class, they reserve the right to contact the police to assist in locating the parents / authorised gardian and place the child under their responsibility.
