Meet & Greet - Zahia & Fettouma Ziouani

We are delighted to be welcoming Zahia and Fettouma Ziouani for the 35th edition of the Alliance Française French Film Festival. 

Join us on Monday 18 March for an exclusive Meet and Greet event where you will have the opportunity to meet with conductor Zahia Ziouani and her twin sister, cellist Fettouma Ziouani.

A pupil of maestro Sergiu Celibidache, Zahia Ziouani created her own philharmonic orchestra, the Divertimento Symphony, at the age of 22 in 1998. 25 years later, the orchestra performs at different national and international venues and will take part of in Olympic Game event in Paris.

Zahia and Fettouma Ziouani have been invited by the Embassy of France in Australia as part of the Alliance Française French Film Festival to present Divertimento, a triumphant and heartwarming film based on their true-life story. The film highlights how two sisters aspired to break into the exclusive domain of classical symphonic music and overcome societal barriers.

Prior to meeting the Ziouani sisters, enjoy a private screening of the movie Friday 15 March from 6pm at Palace Raine Square. 

Event includes:

  • Friday 15 March, from 6.00pm at Palace Raine Square cinema, private screening of the film Divertimento.
  • Monday 18 March, from 6.00pm in a private house and gallery, a two-hour exclusive meet and greet event featuring chamber music, a talk and a Q&A, accompanied by champagne and petits fours bien sûr.
