Book Launch and Signing "L'Australie Française ? Presque !" with Noelene Bloomfield

Noelene Bloomfield is a former Senior Lecturer and current Research Fellow in French Studies at the University of Western Australia.
She has travelled extensively in France and Australia and worked with archival journals, charts, and historical documents relating to French exploration in the Pacific.

She will present and sign her book "L'australie francaise ? Presque ! La rivalité française-Britanique dans les mers du sud", a fascinating historical study of French explorers in Australia and the enduring French place names found today, particularly in Western Australia and Tasmania.

The book highlights the extraordinary skills of these early explorers—navigators, engineers, botanists, artists, and leaders—who mapped vast distances using stars and sextants more than 200 years ago
